Today was our first ‘Delia from SENDIASS fan club’ event – a session we previously called SEND Views & Voices ‘Worcester.’
Parent carers showed up to share their gratitude for Delia’s dedication to all things SEND in Worcestershire and to finally put a face to a name.
Aside from being star struck, we also spoke about the help and support Delia and the other advisors from Herefordshire and Worcestershire Sendiass offer parent carers. We discussed our tribunal experiences, parental blame, masking and the rise of exclusions. The morning was summarized perfectly by a parent carer who said “This was my first time attending… I was really interested in hearing other parents’ stories. It made me feel less alone!”
