Tonight 8 WPCF parent carer ‘reps’ met with Worcestershire’s Designated Clinical Officer (DCO) to discuss the guidance Worcestershire GPs receive to support children and young people with SEND. We were also joined by 2 Worcestershire GPs and 2 Worcestershire SENCOs. Both the parent carers and the professionals spoke about the importance of joint working and the need for clear advice that doesn’t send parent carers around in circles between education and health. As always, coming together to share our various perspectives and experiences offers the greatest impact and challenges our various assumptions. We meet again next month and will keep you updated.
